In our lesson program we teach riders age 4 - 104 the fundamentals of horsemanship.
We start from the foundations of working with horses to whatever personal goal the rider has.
Our main goal is to create a correct and kind rider, no matter the discipline.
If the rider is aiming for blue ribbons, or just a break from everyday life, our goal is to build the best horseperson we can.
What kind of riding do we offer?
Every discipline includes classes in ground training and other unmounted education.

How do our lessons work?
30-minute Private Lessons
Beginner Riders:
Enjoy a 30-minute private riding lesson designed to build confidence and foundational skills. All lesson packages include access to our Sunday afternoon group sessions, where beginners learn essential horsemanship skills like grooming, tacking up, leading, and more.
Intermediate & Advanced Riders:
Riders comfortable with grooming and tacking up independently should arrive early to prepare their horse. Lessons include an independent warm-up at the walk, 30 minutes of focused instruction, and a cool-down walk afterward.
1-Hour Group Lessons (groups limited to 3 participants)
Beginner Riders:
Each 1-hour session includes time for grooming, tacking, riding, and cooling down — providing a full introduction to horsemanship. All lesson packages also include access to our Sunday afternoon group sessions, where beginners can further develop foundational skills such as grooming, tacking, leading, and horse care.
Intermediate & Advanced Riders:
Riders who are comfortable grooming and tacking independently should arrive early to prepare their horse. The 1-hour group lesson is shared among participants, with instruction time divided accordingly, allowing for individualized coaching and independent warm-up or cool-down as appropriate.
HorseSense Riding Levels
How we work
We use the HorseSense Learning Levels curriculum, where all of the skills we want you to know are broken down into a checklist of objectives.
Objectives are progressive, which means that some concepts and skills may be introduced in a lower level and then expanded with more detail in a later level.
Each “checkmark” we give students as they work through Red Level (level 1) creates a little steppingstone to more in-depth knowledge or advanced skills in the next levels.
When students have demonstrated all of the knowledge and skills required for a level, we commemorate that accomplishment with a ribbon!

Horsemanship Levels
HORSEMANSHIP LEVELS concentrate on the student’s ability in the saddle, culminating in a rider who is balanced, educated and confident, able to ride a trained horse with skill and empathy. There are seven Horsemanship Levels. The first Level, Red Level, introduces basic horse safety and riding at the walk and trot/jog. Most recreational riders can progress through Blue or Orange Level. Purple and Teal Levels are for dedicated riders ready to learn advanced skills.
HorseSense Levels
HORSESENSE LEVELS cover all of the unmounted skills and knowledge required to safely understand, train, stable and care for horses. There are seven HorseSense Levels. The first Level, Red Level, introduces basic horse safety and handling. The final Level, Teal Level, prepares a student to manage an equine facility, maintain a performance horse, and/or pursue an equine career.
Rainbow Level
RAINBOW LEVEL is a special Horsemanship Level for very young riders, ages 4-8, who may not be able to safely complete the objectives of our regular Levels program. This Level includes riding, horse knowledge, and simple horse care skills. Students ride on the leadline and can perform all tasks with the assistance of their instructor or a Ground Buddy.
